The HSD Hochschule Döpfer (University of Applied Sciences) is a private university with a campus in Cologne (North Rhine-Westphalia) and in Regensburg (Bavaria).

The carrier is the HSD Hochschule Döpfer GmbH in Cologne.

History and organization

The state approval took place on October 29, 2013 and was granted by the Ministry for Innovation, Science and Research of North Rhine-Westphalia . President is Prof. Dr. Karin Kohlstedt, Chancellor is Mr. Klaus Summer. The university is run by Mr Hubert Döpfer, who also runs the Döpfer schools . The official opening was on October 23, 2015.

The range of courses started with the entry into force of the study and examination regulations with the six-semester (part-time) course in Medical Education with the degree "Bachelor of Arts" (BA) and with the six-semester (full-time) course in psychology with the degree " Bachelor of Science " ( B.Sc.).

In the years that followed, the range of courses was expanded to include further Bachelor and Master courses. As of September 2020 these are:

Part-time study program for qualified therapists and trainees at vocational schools from the 2nd year of training for physiotherapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy. (Standard period of study 5 semesters part-time, 7 semesters part-time, 180 ECTS), start of studies in winter and summer semester, study location Cologne or Regensburg.
