The SRH Hochschule Hamm is a private , state-recognized university of applied sciences in Hamm ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) with a focus on logistics , economics , social science and psychology . It was institutionally accredited by the Science Council in October 2013 and reaccredited in 2018.

The SRH Hochschule Hamm was founded in 2005 as the SRH Fachhochschule Hamm . After a change in the range of courses in the direction of logistics and energy management , the name was changed in September 2009 to Hamm University of Logistics and Economics . In 2018 the sponsoring company was renamed SRH Hochschule Hamm GmbH. In the same year 2018, almost 900 students and seminar participants were looked after. In 2019 the university was renamed from "SRH University for Logistics and Economics" to "SRH University Hamm". In 2020, a new location was developed in Leverkusen , where other SRH companies can also place their degree programs. Due to this expansion, the sponsoring company was renamed "SRH Hochschule Nordrhein-Westfalen GmbH" in 2020.

The SRH Hochschule Hamm has been part of the SRH , a provider of educational and health services, since 2005 . It operates private universities, educational centers, schools and hospitals. With around 14,500 employees, SRH looks after more than one million educational customers and patients per year and generates sales of almost one billion euros. The parent company is SRH Holding (SdbR), a non-profit foundation based in Heidelberg. The aim of the SRH is to improve the quality of life and the life chances of its customers.

Heinrich von Kleist Forum

After the university was founded, the Öko-Zentrum NRW was the location of the educational institute. In February 2010 the company moved to the Heinrich von Kleist Forum in the immediate vicinity of the Hammer train station. In addition to the city's central library and the Hamm Volkshochschule, the forum is also home to the SRH Hochschule Hamm.

Bachelor degrees

Under the Faculty of Technology and Economics , the university offers a Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, logistics and business administration, which lead to the academic degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). The courses are offered in two forms: as a face-to-face course and as a dual course . It is possible to switch between the types of study at the end of the semester. Since the 2019/20 winter semester, the university has been offering the English-language courses "Business Management Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)" and "Supply Chain Management Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)". The Business Analytics B.Sc. in the face-to-face study (also in English) and in the dual study course is in the process of accreditation and should start in the winter semester 2020/21.

In the second department of social sciences , the bachelor's degree in social work has been offered as a face-to-face course , as a dual course and since the winter semester of 2016/2017 as a part-time course at the Institute for Social Science since the 2015/2016 winter semester . The course ends with the academic degree of Bachelor of Arts (BA). The Industrial and Organizational Psychology (BA) course will be offered from the 2018/2019 winter semester . The course in Psychology B.Sc. in the face-to-face study is in the accreditation and should start in the winter semester 2020/21.

Master's degree

The university offers a consecutive Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management (M.Sc.) in the Master’s area of ​​the Faculty of Technology and Economics . This can be done both in face-to-face and distance learning and optionally in German or English. In the distance learning course (German language), in addition to the four-semester variant, a six-semester variant is also offered. At the beginning of the 2015/2016 winter semester, the consecutive master’s degree in business administration began as a face-to-face study. This can also be completed with a focus on Human Resources and leads to the academic degree of Master of Science (M.Sc.). From the winter semester 2019/2020, the SRH University of Applied Sciences Hamm will be offering the master's degree in International Business and Engineering . Upon completion of the course, the academic degree of Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) Is achieved. From the 2018/2019 winter semester, the Master's degree in Innovation and Organizational Development in Social Work (MA) will be offered. The master's distance learning course in Logistics Management (M.Sc.) can be taken for further training .

From the 2018/2019 winter semester, most courses will be taught according to the so-called CORE principle, a form of teaching that focuses on competence-based learning.

The individual modules of some courses can also be taken as further training. When starting a full-fledged course, the achievements from the certificate are recognized.

Research projects

The SRH Hochschule Hamm offers a range of research projects for its students. With the help of the research, students put the knowledge they have learned into practice. This process is supported and promoted through targeted cooperation with commercial enterprises. At the end of 2018, the SRH University of Applied Sciences Hamm decided to start the ALLSTAY 4.0 project based on the experience it has gained since 2017 . The aim is to train foreign specialists and integrate them into the German economy and society in the long term.
