Study concept

Bachelor

The bachelor's degree programs in Banking & Sales and Finance, which accompany work or training, are carried out as part of a hybrid teaching approach - ie a balanced combination of self-study and face-to-face study phases. The central support instrument is the university's interactive internet-based learning platform. The focus of the course is a wide range of face-to-face events that build on the supervised internet-supported self-study. The courses take place on the university campus and at decentralized study centers spread across Germany and are largely carried out in manageable groups.

Finance (B.Sc.)

The specialist focus of the business administration course is banking management .

The study program is a qualification offer for young professionals in savings banks, insurance companies, affiliated companies and other financial service providers who are aiming for a demanding specialist specialization or who want to take on their first managerial tasks.

Banking & Sales (BA)

The unique selling point of the Bachelor's degree in “Banking & Sales” is the content focus on the sale of financial services. The business administration course reflects today's expanded sales approaches and the associated development towards a multi-channel strategy.

Banking (B.Sc.)

The bachelor's degree in banking offers young professionals a dual, practical, face-to-face course with a focus on banking. The course is offered as part of the "Bachelor Select" training program in close cooperation with the Sparkassenakademie Baden-Württemberg.

master

Banking & Finance (M.Sc.)

The consecutive Master's degree in "Banking & Finance" started in the 2018 summer semester. The Master's degree in “Banking & Finance” is based on a first degree in economics and offers a deepening in banking operations in the business areas of credit institutions that are highly relevant to business policy. The part-time master’s study concept offers a specialist specialization in one of the following four business areas:

  • Bank management and supervision,
  • Corporate banking,
  • Private banking or
  • Auditing and fiduciary services.

In addition to a balanced combination of face-to-face study and professionally supervised internet-based self-study, courses in manageable group sizes promote academic success.

Management of Financial Institutions (MBA)

The part-time MBA course "Management of Financial Institutions" is aimed at junior managers of financial service companies and provides sound financial management skills. In addition to the 17-week face-to-face course on the university campus, the course also includes a 6-8 week stay abroad. In job-related study phases, students are supported via the university's learning and support platform.

Since the 2018/19 winter semester, prospective students have been able to take part in the MBA course in the "Teaching Institute with MBA" format, where students gain a "Master of Business Administration" degree as well as the degree "Sparkasse business economist".

S alumni

On January 11, 2008, graduates, teachers and sponsors of the University of Finance & Management founded a non-profit alumni association. Over a third of all graduates are now members of the alumni association of the Sparkasse Finance Group's university. The association sees itself as a link between graduates, students, companies of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe and teachers of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe university.

The most important fields of action of the association are:

  • networking,
  • the representation and advocacy,
  • the scientific further education of the members as well
  • the promotion of scientific cooperation with the university.

In order to implement these goals, the alumni association strives not only to involve university graduates and teachers, but also to closely interlink science and practice.
