The University of Applied Management (HAM) is a private, state-recognized and paid university of applied sciences with its headquarters in Ismaning , which was founded in 2004. Further study centers are located in Berlin , Hamburg , Unna , Treuchtlingen , Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz , Frankfurt , Mannheim and Vienna . The university mainly offers courses in the fields of business administration, sports management, business psychology and business law. Until 2017, the main location was in Erding .

history

The University of Applied Management was founded in Erding in 2004 as a University of Applied Management and later renamed the University of Applied Management . In 2015, the university relocated some of its students to Ismaning. In 2017 it then completely moved to its new headquarters in Ismaning. In 2012 the HAM was institutionally accredited , in 2015 the system accreditation was carried out by the FIBAA . Today the more than 3,000 students are looked after by around 60 professors and 180 lecturers.

Study concept

The HAM pursues a semi-virtual study concept: Part of the study takes place virtually using an online learning platform, whereby the students acquire the knowledge with the help of multimedia-designed work equipment. In addition, attendance phases are provided for attending lectures and courses at HAM as well as for taking examinations. The teaching methods are based on the blended learning approach and aim at problem-oriented learning .

During the virtual phase, students can exchange ideas with lecturers on an online platform. In addition, the students receive free access to an online library. The course can be completed in different ways:

  • Part-time study
  • Cooperative study (dual study)
  • Part-time studies
  • Module study

The HAM offers Bachelor and Master courses. Depending on the course, the academic degrees Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering, Bachelor of Laws or Master of Laws can be achieved.

Accreditation

The university has been institutionally accredited by the Science Council. All Bachelor and Master courses at the University of Applied Management have been accredited by FIBAA as part of the implementation of the Bologna process under the ECTS system .

Sports funding / scholarships

In cooperation with the Bavarian Olympic Training Center , the University of Applied Management awards grants to competitive athletes every year. With this, the university wants to support top athletes in mastering the double burden of competitive sport and studies . The university donates the funds directly.
