The Novosibirsk State Technical University (also the Novosibirsk State Technical University , the Technical University of Novosibirsk from the Russian : Новосибирский Государственный Технический Университет; abbreviation: НГТУ, NGTU or NSTU ) is a multidisciplinary university in the Russian city of Novosibirsk. It is currently one of the largest universities in the Novosibirsk region .

At the TU, Bachelor and Master courses are offered in 95 subjects. Around 14,000 students are taught at 14 faculties. The TU Novosibirsk participates in the program of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science " Support Universities in Russia".

It is one of the largest universities in Siberia. 14,000 students study at the university and 1,500 lecturers and professors are employed (as of 2017). There are 84 fields of study (Bachelor and Master) and 5 subject areas: the physical-mathematical, technical, economic and humanities areas. Every year around 6000 students are enrolled at the TU Novosibirsk. There are more than 120 multimedia classrooms and computer classes at the TU Novosibirsk. In addition to the scientific training centers and laboratories, there is a scientific library.

The TU issues scientific publications, including a. In 1950 the Novosibirsk Electrotechnical Institute (NETI) was founded.

International cooperation

The university pays special attention to international cooperation. The TU has 103 agreements on cooperation in the field of science, education and culture with universities in 28 countries worldwide. The university also takes part in international projects and programs, e. B. TEMPUS, ERASMUS MUNDUS. In addition, the TU Novosibirsk is a collective member of the Association of Technical Universities of Russia, the Association of Technical Universities of Russia and China (from Russian : АТУРК, Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities / ASRTU), the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education, the Fund of scientific-technical innovative and creative activities of the youth.

About 12 teachers from China, Germany, the USA and Japan work at the university. The university has opened a center for Russian language and culture at Sianski University (Sian / People's Republic of China) and at the Tajik Technical University named Academician Ossimi (Dushanbe / Tajikistan).

There is a separate university preparation faculty that runs courses to prepare for university studies for foreign students.

The university works with international organizations, funds and programs. The TU has the regional center of international cooperation in the field of engineering education, the regional fund of the Nixdorf industry, the Siberian center of engineering education in the field of automation and the regional center for exams of the Russian language for foreigners.

TU is a collective member of Association of Technical Universities of Russia, Association of Technical Universities of Russia and China, Academy of Sciences of Higher Education, and Foundation of Scientific and Technical, Innovative and Creative Activities of Youth. The TU has established contacts with universities in the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, Austria, Poland, South Korea, China, New Zealand, Malaysia, Switzerland and Mongolia. Partner universities and institutes include Sofia University of Technology (Bulgaria); TU Ilmenau , TU Chemnitz , RheinMain University , Landshut University of Applied Sciences (Germany); University of Ariel in Samaria (Israel); University of Bologna , University of Pisa (Italy); Harbin Polytechnic , Dalian Foreign Language University (China); Silesian University Katowice , Warsaw University , Technical University of Lodz (Poland); Technical University of Brno (Czech Republic); National University of Singapore (Singapore). The TU also works with Ulsan University (South Korea), exchanges programs and students.

At the TU there is the DAAD information center, the department of the Goethe Institute, the German and French language learning centers, the East-West Center and the Confucius Institute. Students have an opportunity to learn English, German, French, Spanish, Polish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese.

The TU also cooperates with the following international organizations, funds and programs: Council of Rectors in Europe, International Association of Academies, European Association for International Education , UNESCO International Center for Engineering Education. In the TU there is the regional center of international cooperation for engineering education and the regional fund Nixdorf-Industrie, the Siberian center for engineering education in the field of automation technology and the regional center for exams in Russian for foreigners. On September 18, 2002, after signing the Bologna Declaration, after the Lomonosov University in Moscow and the State University of Saint Petersburg, the Technical University of Novosibirsk became the third university in Russia to become a member of the Magna Charta of Universities.

Innovative development

The innovation program of the TU ("High-Tech"), which is geared towards the complex training of highly qualified specialists in the field of information technology, nanotechnologies, mechatronics and material sciences, enables the solution of many tasks associated with the training of highly qualified specialists in the field connected to high technology, and enhances the positive influence of the university on the general social and economic development of the Novosibirsk region. In 2017 the TU received the status of a supporting university . This status is given to universities that are able to solve the tasks of training highly qualified specialists for the purposes of the Novosibirsk Region, to become a science center and to create a cultural and social infrastructure.

Scientific work

In 2014, nine out of 12 colleges were working on dissertations for 21 disciplines at the TU.

Together with Tomsk Polytechnic University, TU is preparing documents for the opening of the Economic Council. On April 25, 1995 the Center for Scientific and Technical Work of Students was founded.

The “News of the Universities of Russia. Radio Electronics ”are a series of Russian scientific journals published by various universities.

In the magazine “News of the Universities of Russia. Radioelectronics ”, the results of scientific research by scientists, aspirants, doctoral students and strategic partners of universities in the field of radioelectronics and related fields will be published. The magazine has been published since 1998; since 2006 it has appeared six times a year.

Siberian journal of industrial mathematics

The "Siberian Journal of Industrial Mathematics" was founded in 1998 by the SL Sobolev Institute for Mathematics and the Novosibirsk University of Technology.

The "Siberian Journal of Arithmetic Mathematics" has been published since 1998 (4 issues a year). The journal was founded by the Siberian Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences , the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Geophysics of the Siberian Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk.

The aim of the journal is to demonstrate the latest achievements of Siberian science in the field of computational mathematics and its application. Scientific reports from scientists from other regions of Russia as well as from abroad are also published.

Cultural center

The cultural center was founded on March 15, 1993. It includes the Student Club, the Humanitarian Education Laboratory, and the Scientists' House. The main task of the cultural center is to organize the leisure time of students and staff. In addition to music, dance and theater groups, you can join the academic Braginsky choir, the violin and folk music ensemble, the vocal studio, the jazz band, the fine arts studio, as well as some theater studios and the school of Engage in applied design.
