The Munich Business School ( MBS ) is a nationally recognized and the Science Council accredited private college for business in Munich .

history

In 1991 the Munich Business School was founded as part of the European Business Schools International (ebsi) under the name “eba Munich” (European Business Academy) on a private initiative. Since it was founded, the university has exclusively offered business management courses. In 1999 it was officially recognized by the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research and Art . In 2003 the university was renamed Munich Business School and a bachelor's degree was introduced as part of the Bologna Process . In 2004, the International Business Master’s degree was added, and in 2005 the first part-time MBA degree program began at Munich Business School. In 2010 the university introduced a second master’s degree, the “Master Sports Business and Communication”. In the same year, MBS received institutional accreditation, subject to conditions, from the Science Council . The university has had a full-time MBA study program since the 2013/14 winter semester, and since January 2015 there has also been a DBA program with a Doctor of Business Administration degree in cooperation with Sheffield Hallam University in Great Britain.

In a 2015 ranking by the magazine Wirtschaftswoche , based on a survey of personnel managers, MBS came in second among the universities of applied sciences in Germany for business administration . In 2015, the university was re-accredited by the Science Council subject to certain conditions.

Rudolf Gröger was president of the university from 2009 to 2015 , and Alfred Gossner was elected as his successor in August 2017 .

Accreditation & Rankings

All courses at Munich Business School are state- approved by the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture, Science and the Arts and are accredited by FIBAA ( Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation ). In addition, Munich Business School received institutional accreditation from the Science Council in 2010 and was reaccredited for a further five years in 2015, subject to certain conditions

Education

At the MBS, there is a three-year Bachelor of Arts with 210 credit points (CP) or a three-and-a-half-year Bachelor with 240 CP in International Business Administration as well as the 18-month Master’s degree (MA) in International Business and Sports Business and Communication .

Since 2008 it has been possible to choose between a bilingual and an English-language branch (bilingual track or English track) in the Bachelor and Master programs (International Business). In addition, MBA programs in general management and international management are offered in the area of ​​continuing education . A DBA doctoral program has been part of the training program since 2014 .

The tuition fees are between € 24,000 and € 41,600, depending on the degree.

Courage Center of Global Family Business at Munich Business School The center is a cooperation between Munich Business School and Courage and sees itself as a think tank for family businesses . In addition to various further training offers in the areas of entrepreneurship and family businesses, the center conducts current research in the same area.
