The Krakow University of Economics and Business ( Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Krakowie ) is a business school founded in 1925 in the Polish city of Krakow with four faculties. The rector of the university is Andrzej Chochół. Today it is the largest Polish business school.

When the university was founded, it was called Wyższe Studium Handlowe , and in 1937 it was renamed Akademia Handlowa . As a university in the People's Republic of Poland , it was named Wyższa Szkoła Ekonomiczna in 1950 and Akademia Ekonomiczna w Krakowie in 1975 . The latter was named until it was renamed Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Krakowie on August 25, 2007 .

Faculties

The university has four faculties:

  • Finance
  • Economics and International Relations
  • Commercial theory
  • management

as well as a research department which u. a. researches on topics such as regional structural change, management of small and medium-sized companies and the transformation of planned economies.
