The Szkoła Główna Handlowa w Warszawie (short SGH ), international SGH Warsaw School of Economics ( Latin Schola Princeps Scientiarum Œconomicarum et Commercii ) is a business university in Warsaw .
History and recognitions
The college was founded on October 13, 1906 as the August Zieliński Private Business School for Men in Warsaw. In 1919 it was recognized as a university and in 1933 the name was changed to Szkoła Główna Handlowa . After the Second World War , the previously private university was nationalized and until 1991 was called Szkoła Główna Planowania i Statystyki (SGPiS).
It is the oldest and is also considered the most prestigious business school in Poland . In the ranking of the 40 best European management master programs by the Financial Times , the university was placed 31st in 2007 and 24th in 2008.
Today the university is involved in numerous European university cooperations such as CEMS , Erasmus , EUA , Partnership in International Management (PIM).

- College of Economic and Social Policy ( Kolegium Ekonomiczno-Społeczne )
- College for World Economy ( Kolegium Gospodarki Światowej )
- College of Business Administration ( Kolegium Nauk o Przedsiębiorstwie )
- College of Management and Finance ( Kolegium Zarządzania i Finansów )
