Adam Budnikowski

Adam Budnikowski (born November 18, 1948 in Więcbork ) is a Polish economist and university professor. He was the rector of Szkoła Główna Handlowa in Warsaw .

Life

In 1971 Budnikowski graduated from the Poznań Wyższa Szkoła Ekonomiczna . Then worked as an assistant at the chair for international economic relations of the Szkoła Główna Planowania i Statystyki (today Szkoła Główna Handlowa ) in Warsaw, where he received his doctorate in 1975. His habilitation followed in 1983 . He then worked in Warsaw as an adjunct and lecturer. In 1992 he was appointed professor at the university. In 2005 he was elected for the first time and in 2008 for a second term as rector of the university. It ended in 2012.

Budnikowski was or is a member of various scientific organizations and institutions, some of which he also has functions in: Polish Academy of Sciences , Polskie Towarzystwo Ekonomiczne , Towarzystwo Ekonomistów Polskich , Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski , the Business School in Random , the Diplomatic Academy in Warsaw or the Krajowa Szkoła Administracji Publicznej . He was a Fulbright Fellow and advisor to the World Bank in Turkey and Romania. His main interests are international economic and financial policy, the economic transformation process in Eastern Europe and environmental protection policy. In December 2012 Budnikowski was awarded by the University Association CEMS . He is a member of the jury of Galeria Chwały Polskiej Ekonomii .

Budnikowski's wife Anna is a lawyer and his son is studying law.
