Axel Balkausky

Axel Balkausky (born February 26, 1962 in Bremen ) is a German sports journalist and television editor.

Life

Axel Balkausky studied journalism , politics and history at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster from 1981 to 1983 . He then studied law in Berlin from 1983 to 1986 and social and economic communication from 1986 to 1989 . From 1987 to 1988 Balkausky worked as a freelancer for the sports department of the Weser-Kurier and in 1988 for Radio Bremen . In the same year he went to the private television station Sat.1 , where he initially worked as an editor in the sports department until 1993 . After that, Axel Balkausky was head of the news service at Sat.1 from 1994 , head of the football service and from 1998 head of the football team . In 2000, Balkausky moved to Sport1 (previously DSF) as head of football and became editor-in-chief of football / motorsport in 2001 . In December 2002 Sport1 made him the editor-in-chief of the station. From January 2007, Balkausky was head of the sports program at NDR as successor to Gerhard Delling and was inherited there in November 2009 by Gerd Gottlob . Since then, Balkausky has been working as a full-time ARD sports coordinator in Munich.
