Jack Nasher-Awakemian (born June 1, 1979 in Korbach ; fully Jack Lord Nasher-Awakemian-Doerr ) is a German author and lecturer as well as professor of leadership and organization at the Munich Business School . His area of ​​interest is business psychology.

Life

Training and teaching

Nasher-Awakemian claims to be the son of an Armenian - American father and a German - Afghan mother. He completed a law degree in Frankfurt am Main and graduated with the 1st state examination. In Trier , he also studied philosophy with psychology as a second major and graduated with a Magister Artium . He also took up a master's degree in management at the Said Business School at Oxford University , where he obtained a master's degree. In 2006 he received his doctorate at the Philosophical Institute of the University of Vienna on The Open Society and its Friends: on Sir Karl R. Poppers' state theory and its influence . He was then a postdoctoral tutor in economics at Oxford University.

As part of his legal traineeship , he worked for the Foreign Office at the UN in New York for four months . Since 2010, he has held the Chair of Leadership and Organizational Behavior at Munich Business School as Professor of Organization and Management, which was renamed the Chair of Leadership and Organization in August 2015. At times he also reads at the Faculty Bing Overseas Studies of Stanford University .

Nasher describes himself as "the most widely read business psychologist in continental Europe". In April 2015, the psychologist and freelance journalist Bärbel Schwertfeger accused him of not being entitled to call himself a business psychologist . Nasher contradicted the charge and considered his qualification to be sufficient. Finally, the professional association of German psychologists sued him , but failed against Nasher.

Mentalism

Nasher-Awakemian deals with applied perceptual illusion ( mentalism ) and wrote a column for the Magical World for around two years . In 2008 he took part in the mystery show The next Uri Geller - Incredible Phenomena Live . He has appeared several times at The Magic Castle in Hollywood , California and on the Manhattan Magic show in Times Square in New York City .

Television appearances

With topics such as “negotiating” and “recognizing lies”, Nasher appeared several times on public and private television, including Stern TV , Planet Wissen and was several times a guest on TV Total .

Ventures

Nasher offers lectures and negotiation training for business people in German-speaking countries, drawing on the findings of social psychology. He believes that psychological techniques can be used to see through and influence people.

From 2003 to 2006 he ran Stigmania oHG together with two co- partners for the “trade in coats of arms and related products, as well as engraved and engravable luxury items etc. Ä. ”, which Nasher founded in 1998 under the name stigmania.de. From November 2006 to January 2008 he was also head of sales at a perfume trading company based in London.

On March 26, 2006 Nasher-Awakemian stood for the FDP in Frankfurt am Main for the local council election .

In November 2008, Nasher and two co-partners founded a social network with a Christian character under the name Christbook . Nasher one in six is executive producers of the film Two Days in the Smoke .

Works

Nasher is known to the general public primarily for his television appearances and popular science articles. Nasser's contributions have appeared in publications such as Capital , Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , Focus Online and Forbes .

Four of Nashers books found their way onto the Spiegel bestseller lists . Thus achieved the state theory of Karl Popper # 3 on the topics Bestsellers philosophy , Debunked! reached number 18, deal! 26th place and see through! 32nd place.
