The Grenoble École de Management (GEM) is a French university based in Grenoble . The Grande école , founded in 1984 by the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry , focuses on economics and the training of potential executives. The Grenoble École de Management is one of the leading management schools in Europe. This was confirmed in 2017 by the Financial Times ranking (for European business schools), in which Grenoble École de Management took 21st place. In the Eduinversal Business School Ranking 2017, the school received the highest ranking ('' 5 Palms '') and is therefore one of the 100 most influential business schools in the world. According to the national rankings (Le Figaro), the elite university could reach 5th place. This means that GEM has always been at the forefront since the company was founded.

General

The GEM integrates four areas:

  • ESC: École Supérieure de Commerce de Grenoble (French programs only, Grenoble Business School)
  • GGSB: Grenoble Graduate School of Business (international part of the university)
  • EMSI: École de Management des Systèmes d'Information (Computer Science School)
  • Doctoral School

The GGSB received the internationally renowned Triple Crown (university accreditation ) AACSB , AMBA and EQUIS accreditations, which currently only run 33 universities worldwide. The GGSB campus is located in the middle of the old town of Grenoble.

The training focus of the institutions lies in the areas of international, finance and technology management as well as marketing and business intelligence. With around 5100 students in internationally accredited study programs, the young university is an innovation pool and center for intercultural management. The GEM is a member of the ambitious GIANT project in the Grenoble metropolitan region.

In addition to specialized masters and a French executive program, the ESC leads its students exclusively to the Grande-école degree. The following programs are also offered at the GGSB:

The tuition fees as of 2018 are around € 20,000 + fees for student service. The entry requirements include at least three years of professional experience, a university entrance qualification and international English certificates (TOEFL, IELTS or TOEIC). For full-time students, a GMAT with a score of at least 600 is essential.

Postgraduate Programs

GEM's flagship project is the highly international two-year MIB ( Master of International Business ) program for students with little or no professional experience. In 2016 it achieved 13th place in the Financial Times ranking "Master in Management". The aim of the MIB program is to prepare students for leadership positions in a global environment. The GEM has ten foreign locations: China (DBA), Lebanon (DBA), Malta (MBA), Morocco , Russia - Moscow (MBA), Saudi Arabia (MIB, DBA), Singapore (MIB), Switzerland (DBA), UK - London (MBA, MIB, MSc in Finance, BIB) - Manchester (MIB) and USA (DBA) as well as in Germany (MBA, MIB) with the GISMA Business School . The university also maintains contact with 159 partner institutions and currently has 96 different nationalities on the Grenoble campus.

In Germany there are exchange programs with the University of Mannheim , the University of Applied Sciences in Munich , the University of Applied Sciences in Saarland (HTW) and the University of Cologne .

In Canada, there is an exchange with Université Laval in Québec and McGill University in Montreal .

In Great Britain there is an exchange with the prestigious University of Cambridge and in Ireland with Trinity College Dublin .

In addition, the GEM takes part in the "Serious Games" every year in cooperation with the MIT Sloan School of Management and is a partner of the MIT GSW Start-up Conference.

Alumni

As of 2020 there are around 33,000 alumni worldwide who can be found in the areas of politics ( Sylvain Maillard , Mikheil Janelidse ), sports (Jonathan Laugel ), media (Julia Vignali ), and business.
