The University of François Rabelais Tours ( French : Université François Rabelais de Tours or just Université de Tours ) is a state university in the French city of Tours with 27,990 students (as of 2018). There is also a university location in Blois .
The University of Tours was founded on March 27, 1969 and is named after the French writer François Rabelais . Philippe Vendrix has been the rector or president of the university since 2016.
