The University of Lyon III , also called Jean Moulin University, is one of four universities in the French city of Lyon . The main campus is the “Manufacture de Tabacs” and in the Monplaisir district of Lyon, other locations are “Les Quais” in the Guillotière district and a branch in Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain department).
history
The University of Lyon III was named after the resistance fighter Jean Moulin . It emerged from a split in professorships in the course of the events of May 1968 and was officially founded in 1974. Due to the presence of a few conservative and right-wing radical lecturers and the rivalry with the neighboring university Lyon 2 , the controversial reputation of a right-wing university developed in the 1970s and 1980s.
