Arnved Nedkvitne

Arnved Nedkvitne (born May 21, 1947 in Haugesund ) is a Norwegian medieval historian . Between 1991 and 1993 he was Professor at the University of Trondheim , and from 1993 to 2009 Professor of Medieval History at the University of Oslo . Nedkvitne has published several books in Norwegian, Swedish, German and English, and is an expert on the economic history of the Middle Ages in Scandinavia .

Nedkvitne studied history at the University of Bergen and received his PhD in 1983. In February 2009 he was dismissed by the university management because of critical statements.
