The Arrate is a mountain in Spain of 556 meters high.
geography
The Arrate belongs to the Euskal Mendiak mountain range and is located in the Basque province of Guipúzcoa . At the foot of the mountain is the city of Éibar .
history
The name of the mountain is made up of the Basque words for stone ( arr ) and between ( arte ), so the name means something like between stone . On the dome of the mountain is the shrine of the Virgin of Arrate, who has been the patron saint of Éibar since 1928.
