Arrhichion
Arrhichion of Phigaleia (also Arrachion ; † August or September 564 BC ) was an Olympian of the ancient Olympic Games .
Arrhichion, who at the Games of 572 BC. BC and 568 BC The Pankration had won, occurred again at the games in 564 BC. Chr. In this fight he was almost defeated because his head was in the leg scissors of his opponent. He didn't want to give up, however; in order to avert the task, he broke the toes of his opponent with the last of his strength, who then gave up first. At the same moment, however, Arrhichion suffocated. Thus Arrhichion was posthumously declared victor.
