Gunild Feigenwinter

Gunild Feigenwinter born Gunild Schimmel , (born May 12, 1940 in Krefeld ) pseudonyms : Gunild Regine Winter , Gudrun S. Krayfuss is a German writer , freelance journalist and publisher's editor . She lives in Switzerland.

Life

Feigenwinter spent her childhood in Hörnsheim in Hesse and her school days in Duisburg-Hamborn . Later studied them German , philosophy and psychology at the Universities of Freiburg , Vienna and Basel . In her dissertation she dealt with the Austrian writer Karl Kraus .

From 1972 to 1976 she published the magazine Die Hexenpresse - magazine for feminist agitation in Basel , which is considered the first German-language magazine of the new women's movement . In the context of the last edition of the witch press in 1976 she published her “Manifesto of Mothers”, in which she distanced herself from what she understood as the mainstream of the women's movement and leftist equality ideology.

As a writer, she published various volumes of short stories and poems from 1978 onwards . Her poetry also reflects memories of a war childhood in Germany as well as images of a pre-patriarchal mythology . A monograph followed in 1998 with reflections on the life and work of Adelheid Duvanel .

Later she dealt critically with Islam from a feminist point of view and has since published her texts on the Internet. She sees herself as a maternal feminist.
