Erosion (medicine)

In medicine, erosion (lat. For “gnawing”, “erosion”) refers to the destruction of organs by neighboring inflammations , tumors or ulcers . The term is used particularly for the destruction of blood vessels and bones .

The erosion of blood vessels can lead to erosion bleeding . Local, one-sided bulges of arteries (erosion aneurysm ) can also occur as a result of erosion.
