Artūras Margelis
Artūras Margelis (born October 14, 1965 in Vartai , Lazdijai district ) is a Lithuanian conservative politician , mayor .
Life
After graduating from the Krosna Middle School in 1983 , Margelis studied at the Pedagoginis institutas in Vilnius and at the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija in Kaunas . From 1995 to 1997 he was a member of the council of the Rajonggemeinde. Margelis was mayor from 1997 to 2000, deputy mayor from 2003 to 2007, and since 2007 he has been mayor of the Lazdijai district .
Margelis has been a member of Tėvynės sąjunga - Lietuvos krikščionys demokratai since 1993 . Since 1997 he has headed the party's Lazdijai department.
Margelis is married. With wife Lina the daughter has Rūta and the son Domantas.
