Arteria auricularis profunda

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The deep auricular artery ("deep ear artery") is a human head artery . It arises from the first (retromandibular) section of the maxillary artery and, embedded in the tissue of the parotid gland , extends to the ear . Behind the temporomandibular joint , it passes through the cartilage of the external auditory canal and supplies the skin of the external auditory canal and the outside of the eardrum . It also sends a branch to the temporomandibular joint.
