Arteria colica dextra

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The inferior mesenteric artery and its branches.

The arteria colica dextra ("right large intestinal artery ") arises either directly from the lower intestinal artery ( arteria mesenterica superior or cranialis) or in the form of a common trunk with the arteria ileocolica . It runs in front of the arteria ovarica or arteria testicularis to the ascending part of the colon (ascending colon). There it divides into a descending branch ( ramus descendens ), which anastomoses with the arteria ileocolica , and an ascending branch ( ramus ascendens ), which connects to the arteria colica media . The nodes lymphoidei colici dextri lie along the arteria colica dextra .

The arteria colica dextra supplies the ascending part of the colon.
