Branches of the ophthalmic artery
The supraorbital artery (Latin for 'upper orbital artery') is an artery in the head. It arises from the ophthalmic artery after it has crossed the optic nerve and moves forward in the eye socket . The supraorbital artery leaves the eye socket together with its accompanying vein and the supraorbital nerve through the supraorbital foramen . It supplies the forehead , the scalp down to the top of the head and parts of the eyelids .
