Arthur (operating system)

Arthur was an operating system with a graphical user interface from the manufacturer Acorn , which was used on their ARM processor- based computers, such as the Acorn Archimedes .

The first version of Arthur appeared in 1987.

It was not multitasking and the graphical user interface was written entirely in BBC BASIC .

Was replaced Arthur of RISC OS 2, the user interface (WIMP) as opposed to Arthur in assembly language was written. Most of the applications written for Arthur also ran on RISC OS.
