Artur Loureiro
Artur José de Sousa Loureiro (born February 11, 1853 in Porto , † July 8, 1932 in Terras de Bouro ) was a Portuguese painter.
Career
Loureiro studied at the Academia de Belas Artes (the later Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto ) in Porto with António José da Costa , later in Rome and Paris. After marrying an Australian, he moved to Melbourne, where he taught at the Presbyterian Ladies Academy.
His works can be found in numerous Portuguese museums and in the Australian National Gallery .
