Ascheregen is a German hard rock band from the heavy metal genre founded in 2017 .

history

The band Ascheregen was founded in 2017. The driving element was Andreas Püschel (alias Kratos P.), who previously played with the bands Asgard and Hammerschmitt . After occupying the band with Lilith Frost, Daniel Van Helsing, Leroy Blanche and Herbert Maul, he brought Marc Debus (aka Kaleun Cronos) into the band as a male vocal part, who had sung with the punk band Schleifstein in the late eighties . With him and Thomas Göttlich ( Grave Digger , Rebellion , Schleifstein and others) he already had a band project in 2005, which, however, was never released for contractual reasons. With this line-up , the line-up of Ascheregen was complete, which was then signed to Pure Steel Records for the album Untot .

Since 2018, after Leroy Blanche's departure, Detlef Schröder has supported the band on drums, who can look back on more than 300 live appearances. Here the band was able to win an expressive man for the rhythm section.

Style and reviews

The band's music is characterized by the guitar and keyboard lines, which are based on the hard rock of the eighties. The double vocals in German are added as an unusual stylistic element, which has led to polarizing reviews of the debut album. Rock Hard magazine compares the music with GDR metal from the 1980s, since German is sung without exception, and awarded 7.5 points for the album in the March 2019 issue. Metal Hammer, on the other hand, assigns the music and the vocals, also in its March 2019 edition, to German rock and rates the lyrics and rhymes rather negatively. Therefore the magazine only awarded one point for the album in total. The e-zine Bleeding4metal sees this again rather positively and praises the musical and textual implementation and its content, with the comment that no foreigners are ashamed here . Hellfire magazine describes the album Untot as absolutely worth listening to, even if the German language is unfamiliar, as one is conditioned to sing English in this area of music. In order to be able to judge this for yourself, one can deal with the texts published on metalkingdom.net.

Musically, Ascheregen are based on hard rock and heavy metal of the early years, and the musical songwriting was primarily taken over by Andreas Püschel, with Marc Debus and Lilith Frost, who are responsible for most of the lyrics, and Daniel van Helsing agreeing here Have also brought in songs. According to the reviews of the Rock-Hard magazine, the guitar lines are consistently high-class, while Daniel van Helsing's keyboards tend to bring Gothic rock influences into the music. The Metal Bulletin Zine from Seattle sees the keyboards as the stylistic device that underlines and concisely supports the feeling of 1980s hard rock. At the same time, the magazine says about the keyboards: Sometimes the keyboards have the classic and fun feeling of 1980s rock.

Discography

The first album Untot is a mixture of different influences of heavy metal and hard rock of the 1980s with German lyrics. Since December 2018 the band has been working on new material for their second studio production.
