The Ashampoo GmbH & Co. KG is an in Rastede -based medium-sized companies, the software develops and markets products via the Internet worldwide. The company was founded in 1999 by Rolf Hilchner in Oldenburg , who headed Ashampoo until the beginning of 2012 - in addition to Heinz-Wilhelm Bogena, the managing director responsible for finances. With Sebastian Schwarz and Jens Klibingat, two new managing directors took over from Hilchner and Bogenas. In May 2017 the company announced a new office building in Rastede worth more than 16 million euros. Products

The company offers further software products in the areas of security, multimedia, office, CAD and construction software as well as tools and utilities.

Range

According to the company, the number of registered customers is over 20 million (as of November 2019) and the number of software installations is around 170 million (April 2014). In the past, Ashampoo also included the DownloadMix download portal.

Incidents

On April 19, 2011, the company announced that Ashampoo user's address data, such as name and email address, had been stolen in a hacker attack.
