Ashcott (Somerset)
Ashcott is a village in south west England in the county of Somerset , south west of Glastonbury .
Ashcott takes its name from the forests that probably covered the Polden range of hills in which the village is located. Ashcott has a preserved 18th century pub and a 15th century church. Joseph Trutch , British engineer and politician in British Columbia , was born in Ashcott in 1826.
