The Asklepios Klinik Langen is a hospital for standard and specialized care in the Hessian city of Langen . The carrier is the Asklepios Kliniken company . The clinic is responsible for the acute care of patients from the Offenbach district; it has a capacity of 400 beds and is the academic teaching hospital of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main .

history

The first hospital in the city of Langen was built in the years 1893–1895 on Frankfurter Strasse, at that time still north of the city's closed development. The hospital was opened on January 2, 1896. Shortly afterwards, in 1904/1905, the hospital was expanded with additional extensions to the south and west.

The hospital stayed at this location until 1968. However, due to the population growth in the Rhine-Main area, it was no longer sufficient and the development of the city, which had now grown close to the hospital, made further expansion impossible. A new hospital called the Dreieich Hospital was built to the north of the old location directly on the boundary . The old hospital building was demolished and the site is still empty today.

In 2002 the hospital was sold to the Asklepios clinics. In 2008 the psychiatric department opened with 95 beds in a new building.
