Asmodi Bizarr is a Düsseldorf based band that was founded in 1980 by the singer Monique Maasen and the bassist Andy Wahl.

history

The first publication of her Gothic compositions appeared in 1983 on the sampler Plague of the Jungle . Sunsierra , the first album, was released in 1986 on the Ata-Tak sub-label Das Büro .

Asmodi Bizarr played at festivals in the 1980s and did a number of tours with the bands Sex Gang Children and The Southern Death Cult, among others .

In 1986 they designed the opening act for Christian Death in Germany, Holland and England. In 1988/89 they accompanied the band Die Toten Hosen on their A Little Bit of Horror Show tour through the Federal Republic of Germany.

In 1992 the Asmondi Bizarr broke up. In 2001 and 2011 the band played one concert each. In 2014 she gave three concerts, in her hometown of Düsseldorf at Tube, at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig and in Cologne as the opening act for Chameleons Vox . These concerts took place under the sign of the return to the old Gothic roots. In early 2015 the band recorded a new song (a thousand voices) for a Düsseldorf sampler. At the moment they are working on a new CD with previously unreleased songs. A CD with completely new (Gothic) material is planned for 2016.
