Asociación Argentina de Polo

The Asociación Argentina de Polo (AAP) is the Argentine polo association .

The association was founded on September 14, 1922. Its headquarters are in Buenos Aires . The AAP is managed by the Consejo Directivo (German: leadership council), which includes the president, the vice-president and 13 other people. The president of the AAP is Luis Lalor, the vice-president is Alberto Goti (as of June 2009). Various sub-commissions have been set up to carry out the tasks.

The AAP organizes the Argentine Open Polo Championship ( short: Argentine Open ) and oversees the other polo tournaments in Argentina, sets the rules for polo in Argentina and is responsible for the interpretation in cases of doubt, imposes disciplinary measures and decides on handicaps in Argentina active player.

In March 2009 the AAP comprised 138 polo clubs in Argentina. The AAP is a subsidiary of the Federation of International Polo (FIP), the world polo association. On October 26, 2009, the AAP initially left the FIP, but rejoined the FIP President Guerrand-Hermés.
