Asphodelium ground

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Asphodeliengrund is a place from Greek mythology . In the Odyssey , Achilles ruled after his death as god of the dead over the Asphodeliengrund and its inhabitants.

The underworld was divided into three parts. Beside the Elysion , the island of the blessed, and the Tartaros , corresponding to our hell, the asphodelium was found. There the asphodeles grew as mythical flowers. And that is where most of the dead lived as shadows, which only disappeared after a long time.
