Aspiration (conveyor technology)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The aspiration (Latin: aspirātiō, sucking aspirare =) is a necessary component of the pneumatic conveyance . In addition, aspiration is required in almost all mill systems. The Lübeck industrial pioneer Wilhelm Beth is regarded as a pioneer in industrial dedusting . In a grain mill , aspiration fulfills the following important tasks from receiving the grain to loading the flour:

  • Vacuum cleaner in many machines and removal of flour or dust (air pollution and dust deposition are avoided)
  • Prevention of dust escaping from machines and systems (conveyors, pipes, etc.)
  • Heat and moisture should be removed from grinding machines or drying systems
  • Functional support for some cleaning machines (e.g. dry stone separators , ascending separators , cleaning machines, etc.)

An aspiration thus serves safety (prevention of dust explosions ), hygiene (condensation and mold) and economy.

Aspiration systems usually consist of:

  • a central filter
  • pipelines going therefrom to all necessary suction points
  • a centrifugal fan (downstream)

The term "aspiration" is also used in grain accounting for B. to record the dusty additions in grain maize. See also stocking (grain) .
