Assem Akram
Assem Akram ( Dari عاصم اکرم; * September 29, 1965 in Kabul ) is an Afghan historian and writer . He received his doctorate from the Sorbonne in Paris .
Life
During the Soviet-Afghan war , Akram actively campaigned as a diplomat for the liberation of his native Afghanistan. In 1993 he resigned from his diplomatic post in Paris, disillusioned with the never-ending conflicts in Afghanistan.
Assem Akram has lived in Springfield , Virginia with his wife and two sons since 1996 .
