Assmatix ( own spelling ASSMATIX ) is a German punk rock band from Dortmund .
history
The band was formed in 2002. Founding members were the drummer and singer Steve ( The Idiots , The Men), the bassist Kalla (The Men) and the guitarist Andy W. (Daybreakboys, Lost Bottles).
During this time the demo No Time was recorded. In 2003 Steve focused on drums; Andy S. (Rim Shout, Billy Rubin) became the singer of the band. The band recorded Live Fast ... Die Old with him in 2004 .
In the meantime, Bulla ( Rostok Vampires ) played the second guitar. In 2006 Hölzi (Daybreakboys, Billy Rubin) was won over for the guitar. With the line-up, the band's previously more hardcore- heavy sound changed more towards melodious punk rock .
Today the band plays u. a. Ska and Reggae . The CD The Ex-Generation (2014) is supported by guest musicians (female backings, piano, percussion, saxophone).
Since 2015, ASSMATIX has been under contract with Resistance Art Recordings, a label from the scene around the Resistance bar in Cologne-Ehrenfeld . This means that the CD The Ex-Generation is distributed via Bellaphon .
