Association of Marxist Students

The Association of Marxist Students ( AMS ) was a communist student association in Germany. According to its self-portrayal, it was the “only nationwide Marxist student association ” in Germany. Politically, the AMS was linked to the DKP .

The AMS was founded in 1997 in Leverkusen and was represented at several universities with members in the student parliaments. At that time, AMS belonged to university groups in Jena, Trier and Kiel. The AMS published the semester magazine communiqué as well as the irregularly published theory organ circular . She took part in educational strikes in 2009 and 2010. She was classified as left-wing extremist by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution . In 2004 the AMS had around 60 members.
