Astana Symphony Orchestra
The Astana Symphony Orchestra (also Symphony Orchestra of the State Philharmonic Astana ) is a symphony orchestra founded in 1998 from the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan (Astana until 2019).
history
The orchestra was founded just a year after Astana was chosen as the capital of Kazakhstan. The idea came from the rector of the State University of the Arts in Kazakhstan, Aiman Mussakhajeva. The orchestra performs mainly in Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union . In addition to the usual repertoire of a capital city orchestra, it represents the different peoples, religions and world views of the Kazakh state and is their symbol of peaceful coexistence.
