Astrid Schirmer

Astrid Schirmer (born November 8, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German opera singer ( dramatic soprano ).

Career

Schirmer was trained in her hometown. At a young age she sang the youth dramatic subject, including Leonore and Sieglinde. Her engagements have taken her to many medium-sized and large theaters in Germany, and she also sang a leading role in Patrice Chéreau's Jahrhundertring at the Bayreuth Festival .

She was married to the conductor Carl Hubert, Count von Pfeil and Klein-Ellguth (born July 11, 1932 in Ribnitz ; † December 18, 1987 in Hanover ) and is the mother of the director Alexander von Pfeil .
