Astrippe

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Astrippe is a rib, a curved component made of natural stone on one, late Gothic arch designated, which is decorated with branches and Aststümpfen. This decor was made by stone sculptors , as the carving out of stone required high design and technical skills. Examples of Astrippen can be found in the Pirnaer Marienkirche and in the Liebfrauenmünster Ingolstadt .
