Astrosniks

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Astrosniks , or Sniks for short, are fictional characters that were invented in 1975 by the German company Bullyland and produced for an international market. They are coveted collectible figures to this day. They are apparently inspired by the Schleich Smurf figures .

Backstory

A snik is about 5 to 6 cm high. They have antennas (most have two, but Galaxo only has one) and protruding front teeth. You are a space civilization living on the planet Snikeria. You are supposed to be strong, kind, and very intelligent. Astrosniks speak their own special language, Sniklish.

On the planet of the Sniks, however, there are different skin colors that have no meaning for the inhabitants. Sniks are described as happy, lovable, and friendly. They should study diligently and "always make time to play, to be fun and enjoy life and friendships". Sniks are called "Friends of Humanity", but nothing is known about the nature and extent of their interaction with humans. Your planet was somehow relocated to our solar system. However, it cannot be seen from Earth because it was covered by Mars. Because of population growth, the Red Planet was also settled underground.

Production history

The figures of the first series in 1975 were pink with different colored caps. The deep black Astrosniks followed on the market, followed by a deep red series. In 1979 the Sniks were deep red and in 1980 they came out with green skin throughout, which became the standard for the stories. The McDonalds figurines were then yellow again and the latest development is a blue series with white caps, which is very reminiscent of the Smurfs.

1983 (marked with an M) and 1985 (without any mark) appeared at McDonald’s limited play figures.

In addition to cats, dogs and kites, there are also pyramid-shaped beings and small creatures without hands or noses, called Marsmen Sniks (or Walkman Sniks or Snik Walkmen because of the headphones they always wear).

Bully then had radio play cassettes, long-playing records, comics and books published for the characters. They are often misunderstood as "other Smurfs" by laypeople.
