Athletic Club Barnechea is a Chilean football club from Lo Barnechea . The club, which was founded in 1929 and has never been a Chilean football champion, currently plays in Primera División B and plays its home games in the Estadio Municipal de Lo Barnechea , which can seat 5,000 spectators.
history
The Athletic Club Barnechea was founded on December 23, 1929 in Lo Barnechea, located in the Región Metropolitana de Santiago . For decades, the club played exclusively in regional divisions of Chilean football. It was not until 1982 that the first promotion to the Cuarta División, the fourth-highest Chilean league, was achieved. Barnechea was found there for six years from 1983 to 1988, before the leap into the third division was achieved in the last-mentioned year. For the 1989 season, AC Barnechea started for the first time in the Tercera División, where they were able to establish themselves immediately. The club then spent 23 years uninterruptedly in the third Chilean football league and during this time failed twice as runner-up in the Primera División B. In 1997 and 1998 you had to go to the Universidad de Concepción and Deportes Colchagua teams give way.
In the 2011 season the time had come when AC Barnechea was champion in the Tercera División with one point ahead of CD Arturo Fernández Vial and secured their first promotion to the Primera División B, Chile's second highest division. They have been there since the 2012 season and have established themselves very well in the league.
