Atid (party)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Atid ( Hebrew עתיד, lit. Zukunft ) was a 2-person faction of the 13th Knesset in Israel . It was founded on November 27, 1995 as a split from the Ji'ud and consisted of the MPs Alex Goldfarb and Esther Salmovitz . The Ji'ud, for its part, was a split from the Tzomet that emerged when Gonen Segev fell out with faction leader Rafael Eitan and founded the Ji'ud together with Goldfarb and Salmovitz.

At the time Atid was founded, the Ji'ud was part of the ruling coalition of Shimon Peres . Goldfarb, who had been Deputy Minister for Construction and Housing since January 2, 1992 , remained in his post until June 18, 1996, the end of the legislature. After that Atid broke up.
