The Atlanterhavstunnel is a single-tube road tunnel between Kristiansund and Averøy in the province (fylke) Møre og Romsdal . It has a length of 5779 meters in the course of Fylkesvei 64. The deepest point is around 250 meters below the sea surface. The completion of the tunnel was delayed by an eruption on February 29, 2008 (around the lowest point) by one year.
