Atomic Records

Atomic Records was an American rhythm & blues and jazz label that existed from 1945 to 1947.

The independent record label Atomic Records , based in Hollywood (5634 Santa Monica Blvd.), was founded in 1945 by trombonist and band leader Lyle Griffin. Musicians who released on the local label included Slim Gaillard , Barney Kessel ( What Is This Thing Called Love? ), Lucky Thompson , David Allyn , Dodo Marmarosa , Betty Hall Jones and Griffin himself. In 1947, he sold Atomic to AW Lungren who ran it until 1955.
