Attila Fenyves

Attila Fenyves (born January 5, 1945 in Fürth , Bavaria ) is an Austrian legal scholar .

Life

Attila Fenyves grew up in Graz , where he graduated from the Pestalozzi-Gymnasium in 1963. From 1964 he studied law at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz , where Walter Wilburg was one of his teachers. In 1967 he received his doctorate there sub auspiciis . In the same year he became an assistant at the Institute for Civil Law at the University of Graz, and in 1978 he received the license to teach civil law and insurance contract law . In the same year he was awarded the Cardinal Innitzer Promotion Prize for Law and Political Science .

On February 1, 1980, the University of Graz appointed him full professor for civil law. From 1985 to 1989 and from 1991 to 1995 he headed the Institute for Civil Law. On September 1, 1995, he accepted a position at the Institute for Civil Law at the University of Vienna, which he headed from 2007 to 2013. In autumn 2013 he retired. He also teaches regularly at the University of Hamburg .

Fenyves is the editor of the Insurance Law Decision Collection (VersE).
