Audible Magic

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Audible Magic is a US company founded in 1999 that provides filter software for electronic media. The company's headquarters are in Los Gatos .

The company's product range includes so-called content filters for radio and television broadcasts, Internet and satellite data streams , digitally stored files and network file transfers. The best-known customers of Audible Magic include the Internet portals SoundCloud , vimeo or Facebook , as well as large music labels such as EMI Recorded Music or Sony BMG , who hope that the software will restrict the distribution of illegal copies and content.

In Ireland, the highest civil court in March 2008 admitted a lawsuit by several large music labels against the network operator Eircom, which had refused to monitor the behavior of its users by using filter software from Audible Magic.
