Advanced seminar for drivers with critical points

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Through an advanced seminar for drivers with point problems , called ASP for short , points collected in the German central traffic register in Flensburg could be reduced or the withdrawal of the driving license prevented until April 30, 2014 .

When 8 points were reached, the person concerned was warned by the driving license authorities and advised of the possibility of reducing points through voluntary participation in an ASP. With a score of up to 8 points, there was the possibility of reducing 4 points. With 9 to 13 points, 2 points could be reduced.

For 14 to 17 points, participation in an ASP was made compulsory if the person concerned had not already participated in a seminar within the last five years. However, no points were deleted. Failure to participate led to the withdrawal of the driver's license.

As a result of the reform of the points system on May 1, 2014, the possibility of reducing points through an advanced seminar was no longer available; since then, one point can be reduced by attending a fitness to drive seminar .
