The Liezen Resurrection Church is located in Friedau in Liezen in Styria . With the Confessing Church in Admont it belongs to the parish AB Admont-Liezen in the Evangelical Superintendent of A. B. Styria .

history

The Protestant church in Liezen was initially set up as a preaching station in 1934 and assigned as a branch of the newly founded Admont parish in 1947. The current church was built from 1957 to 1959, the adjoining community center in 1972 when the parish seat was moved from Admont to Liezen. The first pastor to act in Liezen was Horst Hochhauser.

Church building

The existing church building was built according to plans by senior building officer Hubert Buchsteiner in undemanding forms as a simple hall building with a gable-sided roof turret, the slender rectangular windows closed with the time-related glass blocks. The unadorned interior with a semicircular barrel ceiling was given its sober-looking white paint in 1994 instead of the original color.
