August Christian Wilhelm von Linsingen

August Christian Wilhelm von Linsingen , since 1783 Freiherr von Linsingen († February 24, 1802 ) was a German officer. Most recently he was a lieutenant colonel in the Saxon-Gotha infantry regiment in the service of the Republic of Holland as well as a manor owner. Because of his merits and those of his noble ancestors, he was raised to the status of imperial baron by Emperor Joseph II.

Life

He came from the Eichsfeld line of the noble family von Linsingen and was the third eldest son of the manor owner and the real secret councilor Ernst Dietrich von Linsingen who died in 1763.

Together with his three younger brothers, he met on June 29, 1781 in Mönchshof in Saxony-Gotha an inheritance comparison of the property in the Goldenen Aue and Eichsfeld owned by the von Linsingen family . In this settlement he was awarded the Tilleda manor by drawing lots . Between 1781 and 1785 he undertook the reconstruction of this manor, which had been ruined at the beginning of the 18th century.

On December 4, 1783, he and his older brother Adolph Ernst von Linsingen were elevated to the baron status of the Holy Roman Empire in Vienna .

He was married to Johanna Christine Juliane Pauline von Uslar-Gleichen. From the marriage among others five sons and daughter Magdalene Marianne Ernestine, born in 1778, emerged.
