Tilleda (Kyffhäuser) is a district of the country town of Kelbra (Kyffhäuser) in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

Tilleda is located in the Golden Aue , directly on the northern edge of the Kyffhäuser Mountains .

The Kyffhäuser cycle path runs through Tilleda . From 1915 to 1966 there was a stop on the Berga-Kelbra-Artern railway line known as the Kyffhäuser Kleinbahn .

history

At the beginning of the 9th century Tilleda was mentioned in a document as Dullide in a list of the goods of the Hersfeld Monastery, built by Archbishop Lullus († 786) of Mainz . The development of the place is closely linked to the history of the royal palace of Tilleda .

On July 1, 2009 Tilleda was incorporated into the city of Kelbra (Kyffhäuser) . The last mayor was Manfred Tettenborn.

Attractions

  • Palatinate Tilleda open-air museum , Ottonian palace complex, archaeological excavations by Paul Grimm have produced a multi-part complex with an outer bailey used by craftsmen. Today some of the excavated buildings have been reconstructed in the open-air museum.
  • Salvatorkirche (Protestant), Romanesque-Gothic town church with some baroque furnishings and Renaissance epitaphs. Small houses are grouped around the church, forming a circle that surrounds a church garden.
  • Kyffhäuser Monument , above Tilleda in the Thuringian part of the Kyffhäuser Mountains.
  • Gutshof Tilleda, former four-sided farm, today the listed manor house and a barn still stand. Here an association is planning social-educational and cultural projects in the future and has already started to renovate the house. [1]
